The Road To Wilks, Part II: The Ultimate Bridal Brunch

One of the things people often told me about getting married is that the wedding events tend to be a blur. But I have not been able to stop replaying my bridal shower in my mind! I feel like Sophia from the Golden Girls: "Picture it, Sicily, 1925..." as I picture walking into Aged Restaurant and Bar to be greeted by my mother, sister, close friends, and family dressed in their tea party/brunch finest and ready to have a good time! My mother and sister really poured their hearts into creating the ultimate bridal brunch, you can see the love in the details. The stationery of the invitations, menus, bridal shower game booklet(!), cake table signage, and thank you cards were all keepsake-quality thanks to Lepenn Designs. I loved the use of classic tea pots as decor and also as part of the shower games: brunch guests filled them with the "tea" on how to keep the romance piping hot in our marriage! Did you read part I of our love story? The women at The Ultimate Bridal Brunch got to know even MORE insider tea about Courtney and me during the shower games, and the winners of the games got gift bags filled with goodies courtesy of our "Maid of Honor" sponsor, Curls. What would The Ultimate Bridal Brunch be without gifts? I got the gifts of great advice, laughs, lingerie, and registry items. Each guest got a gift bag filled with our fave products from Curls, "Bridesmaid" sponsor, Made Beautiful, and "Flower Girl" sponsor, Silk Elements. One of my guests messaged me two days later with a photo of her wash and go results and this comment: "This camera isn't capturing the fleeky-ness o my CURLS! Loving the Creme Brûlée! I'm so pleased, washed, towel dried, ran through sections of my hair with product, easy breezy!!" The brunch menu was also a hit! A special thank you to the manager and the staff at Aged for their hospitality and professionalism. The cupcakes by my friend Rhonda were delicious and the cake by Sydney's Sweets was picture perfect among the teapots and tasted wonderful! I'm looking forward to marriage. As lovely and memorable as it was, The Ultimate Bridal Brunch was just one day. Marriage is the path of a lifetime, and Courtney and I are very aware of this. We thank God everyday for the blessings, love, and support we have received. Photography: Alisa Haughton Makeup: Zena Glover Dress: La Belle Boutique
