Natural Hair Brunch Affair ATL
Attendees show off their complimentary gifts from our sponsor Camille Rose Naturals
As we walked into "The Rhum," we were greeted by Cassandra and we received complimentary goodie bags before being seated. The bags were filled with treats, such as the AHH-mazingly-scented Koils by Nature Nourishing Hair & Body Butter in Wonderful Watermelon, the Curls Blueberry Bliss Curl Control Paste, and lots more! The Kaye Sisters had a very inspiring question and answer session with guest speaker Lois Reid-Hines, the Co-Founder of Tropic Isle Living. She offered words of empowerment and encouragement to the beautiful ladies in attendance by urging us to pursue our passions and to take care of ourselves physically and mentally, so we can be beautiful from the inside out. It was great to hear her story of how she started with humble beginnings and worked hard to be where she is today, with a successful business and loving family.
We were also able to enjoy unlimited mimosas (one of my FAVE drinks!) and had a selection of delicious entrees to choose from on the menu, such as Chicken and (Red Velvet) Waffles, Shrimp and Grits, and Banana's Foster French Toast.
There were also special guests from The Damn Salon, looking fierce and fabulous. The owner of the salon, Mushiya, explained that the salon was meant to be an experience and that their mission is to show clients that their natural hair can be just as high-fashion and fierce as more mainstream hairstyles are.
There were several other bloggers in attendance as well: Nikki Mae of NaturalChica.com, Naturally Kela, and the founders of HeyCurlHey with their show-stopping colored tresses.
The event culminated with a huge group photo and mingling AND Atlanta beating the Saints on the big screen. (Ha ha!) I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I am so happy that I was able to attend! I wish the Kaye Sisters and Cassandra much more success as they continue their brunch tour across the country!
Peace and blessings,

On Sunday, September 7, 2014, I had the pleasure of attending the Natural Hair Brunch Affair in Atlanta, hosted by the Kaye sisters of Natural Hair Does Care and Food Before Love founder, Cassandra Rosario. I made some great connections, enjoyed some tasty food, and had a truly great and positive experience.
The event was held in "The Rhum" at Negril Village, a Caribbean restaurant located in the heart of Midtown in Atl. The chic, beautiful setting, which was a fire station once upon a time, provided the perfect ambiance.
The attendees were greeted at the door by the warm, smiling faces of the Kaye Sisters, Shalleen and Seanna-Kaye, the founders of Natural Hair Does Care. They were so welcoming and happy for us to be there, which I loved! t's great to see people excited about what they do, especially in settings where it directly serves others. Food Before Love founder, Cassandra Rosario, did a wonderful job coordinating the event.
